On Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at approximately 12:17 p.m., our 911 center received a call for a possible residential home explosion. In the 1200 block of Green Holly Drive. Units were dispatched at 12:19pm and arrived on scene at 12:22pm. As the initial crews arrived, they found one adult female patient in the front yard in cardiac arrest. Life saving measures were begun while crews simultaneously continued to look for other patients. An adult male was found in the collapsed house. Crews worked to reach the adult male patient. Crews rescued the adult male from the collapsed and unstable structure, and paramedics began life saving procedures. Unfortunately, the adult female patient was pronounced deceased at the scene. The adult male patient was stabilized and transported by the Maryland State Police Aviation Unit for transport to Bayview Hospital with serious and life threatening injuries. The scene is still under investigation by our Fire Investigators supported by investigators from the ATF. We would like to acknowledge the partnerships with the ATF along with our mutual aid responding crews from the Annapolis Fire Department, and the U.S. Naval Academy Fire Department.
