The Maryland Small Business Examiner is committed to strengthening the communities we serve across all 24 Maryland jurisdictions. Through our coverage, our business practices, and our community support, we work to advance small business growth, entrepreneurship, and economic opportunity throughout the state.

Community Initiative Request Guidelines
We receive many requests for community support and do our best to respond to each one. The following guidelines help us evaluate requests consistently and fairly.
General Policies
- Submit your request in writing to info@mail.mdsbexaminer.com at least six weeks in advance of your deadline or event date.
- Organizations seeking support should be a registered nonprofit or charitable organization, or proceeds from the event must benefit a qualifying Maryland charitable organization.
- Support is most often provided in the form of editorial visibility, public service content, or promotional assistance through our publication and digital channels.
- Events must be open to the public and relevant to Maryland’s small business community or the broader communities our publication serves.
- We generally do not support causes or events that are primarily religious, political, or partisan in nature.
- Community support does not include guaranteed news or editorial coverage. All editorial decisions rest solely with our editorial team and are made independently of any community initiative relationship.
- Requests are evaluated on a case by case basis. Submitting a request does not guarantee support, and we may not be able to respond to every inquiry.
Community initiative support is provided at the sole discretion of The Maryland Small Business Examiner based on available resources and alignment with our focus areas. Past support does not guarantee future participation. All editorial coverage decisions remain independent of any community initiative involvement.
