Richard Howard Tucker Jr., 41, of California, is facing seven misdemeanor charges stemming from an August 13, 2026, traffic stop in St. Mary’s County, including four counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance other than cannabis, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of illegal possession of ammunition. He is also facing a separate misdemeanor charge accusing him of failing to report a required change in employment information as a registered sex offender. The August 13 arrest began when Cpl. Travis Wimberly of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office reported seeing a green 2003 Honda CR-V traveling near Chancellors Run Road and Lexington Drive in Lexington Park. Wimberly wrote that an earlier check showed the vehicle’s registration was expired and that the windshield had a significant crack on the driver’s side that created a visibility and safety concern. The deputy stopped the vehicle after it turned onto Fox Chase Drive. Wimberly identified Tucker as the driver and sole occupant.
