Angel Justine Moran, 26, of Leonardtown, faces charges of second-degree child abuse by a custodian and second-degree assault following an August 11, 2026, domestic incident in which authorities allege an adult male victim was scratched and a 10-year-old child was later struck in the head with a high-heeled shoe. A deputy with the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and Cpl. Walker responded to a home in Leonardtown at approximately 12:43 p.m. for a reported assault. According to the deputy’s account, the adult male victim said he and Moran, his wife, had been involved in a verbal argument. He told investigators that Moran tried to take a cellphone from his hand and scratched him several times on the chest and shoulder in the process. The deputy reported seeing small red cuts on the man’s chest and shoulder. The adult victim also said Moran blocked the back door after failing to get the phone and threatened to use OC spray, commonly known as pepper spray, while holding the canister in her hand.
