Mark Antwaune Majors Jr., 31, of Indian Head, faces two handgun charges and four traffic allegations after a Maryland State Police trooper said he found Majors asleep behind the wheel of a running SUV early Aug. 22, 2026, before discovering a handgun on him during the arrest. Majors is charged with having a handgun in a vehicle and carrying a handgun on his person. In connection with the same incident, he was also cited for negligent driving in a careless and imprudent manner that endangered property, life and people; reckless driving; driving under the influence of alcohol; and driving while impaired by alcohol. The negligent-driving citation carries a listed $350 payable fine, while the reckless-driving and two alcohol-related driving citations require a court appearance. Trooper Miller of the Maryland State Police wrote that he was dispatched at approximately 5 a.m. on Aug. 22 to the area of Hawthorne Road in Charles County. The filings differ on the other road name: Miller’s account identifies Marshall Hall Road, while a separate charge form lists Marshall’s Corner Road.
