Christopher Robert Sneed, 40, of Concord, North Carolina, is facing charges of having a handgun in a vehicle, possession of a controlled dangerous substance other than cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia following an August 15, 2026 traffic stop in Calvert County. Police allege a handgun and methamphetamine were discovered in his vehicle after he was arrested during the stop. According to the Maryland State Police account, a corporal stopped a 2017 BMW 750 XI traveling northbound on Maryland Route 4 near White Sands Drive after radar allegedly showed the vehicle traveling 73 mph in a posted 55 mph zone. Trooper Crockett responded to assist and took control of the traffic stop. Crockett reported making contact with Sneed, who was identified through a North Carolina driver’s license. The trooper said he detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle and asked Sneed to perform standardized field sobriety tests. Sneed agreed, according to the police account. Crockett wrote that Sneed performed the tests poorly and was placed under arrest for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.
