Port Discovery Children’s Museum is kicking off a new Baltimore City museum program with a special event for families on Friday, June 5, from 5–8 p.m.

Discovery Quest is a new program led by Port Discovery encouraging and rewarding children for exploring Baltimore’s museums and cultural attractions. During the Discovery Quest Kickoff Event on June 5, admission to Port Discovery will be just $5, families can pick up a free Discovery Quest booklet, and learn how the program works. They can meet participating museum partners, get their photo taken for their booklets, and begin collecting stamps toward collectible charms and a special completion prize.

“We’re thrilled to launch Discovery Quest for families across our city!” said Carter Arnot Polakoff, president and CEO of the museum. “This is your invitation to get out, explore, and follow your curiosity through Baltimore’s incredible museums. This year, 14 museums have come together to bring Discovery Quest to life—and from here, who knows where it will go. At Port Discovery, we believe play brings people together, and this is what it looks like when a city shows up for its children and for play!”

Children are encouraged to explore art, history, science, and culture across the city by visiting 14 Baltimore institutions participating in the program. These include the American Visionary Art Museum, the B&O Railroad Museum, the Baltimore Museum of Industry, the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Jewish Museum of Maryland, the National Aquarium, the Reginald F. Lewis Museum, the National Great Blacks in Wax Museum, the Walters Art Museum and more.

The Discovery Quest booklet is free, as is participation in the program, but admission to each institution varies. While some sites are free of charge, standard admission applies at locations that regularly charge admission. Families can collect stamps at participating locations through Dec. 31, 2026. Normally, admission to Port Discovery Children’s Museum costs $25.95 for non-members. Tickets for both adults and children for the Discovery Quest Kickoff Event are just $5 each. They can be purchased on Port Discovery’s website.
